GCSE Maths with Miss Farah — Thu 17:00
Anywhere one student books one hour with one teacher
Not for you if you need
- Group-class caps
- Lesson packages
- Standing weekly slots
- SMS to parents
Five things that cost you a lesson
Every week's timetable is renegotiated with every parent, one WhatsApp message at a time.
One booking page, one link, nothing to negotiate.
Payment is always “next lesson,” so you teach three weeks before anyone pays.
Stripe or PayPal clears before the slot is held.
A parent books “maths” and gets the tutor who teaches primary, for an A-level student.
Only the tutors qualified for that service appear.
Nobody wants 15:00 and everyone wants 18:00, and you find out too late to fill it.
The week by tutor, with the empty hours visible.
Half-term arrives and thirty lessons have to be moved by hand.
One date override closes the whole week.
The limits
What Calendaty doesn't do
-
No group-class capacity.
One appointment per slot, no attendee limit and no waitlist — if your business is group classes, this is the wrong tool.
-
No standing weekly lessons.
The Tuesday 17:00 student rebooks, or your admin creates the term from the dashboard.
-
No lesson packages or credits.
Ten lessons is ten bookings, paid one at a time.
-
No SMS to parents.
Reminders are email, and WhatsApp isn't an agent channel — put the link in your WhatsApp Business profile and take alerts on Telegram or Slack.
One term-time Thursday
-
Last night's 22:15 question about an exam board is answered, and Thursday 17:00 is booked and paid.
-
The Appointments calendar shows the week by tutor — Wednesday 15:00 is empty three weeks running.
-
The booking's custom fields already say Year 11, target grade 7, weakest on trigonometry.
-
The Google Meet link went out with the confirmation, so nobody asks for it.
-
A parent moves tomorrow's lesson themselves — outside the 24-hour lock, that is theirs to do.
-
One date override closes the whole half-term week instead of thirty cancellations.

Questions
Can I run group classes with a cap of 8 students?
No. Calendaty books one appointment per slot, with no class capacity, attendee limit or waitlist. If your business is group classes, this is the wrong tool.
Can I set up a standing weekly lesson?
Not automatically — there is no recurrence. The student rebooks each week, or your admin creates the term's lessons from the dashboard, a few clicks each.
Can parents book on behalf of a student?
Yes, and that's the normal case. Custom fields capture the student's name, year and exam board separately from the parent's contact details.
How do I close a whole half-term week?
One date override on the schedule. It closes availability without touching the bookings you have already taken.
Can I charge different prices for different levels?
Yes, and you should. Each subject-and-level pair is its own service, with its own duration and its own price.
Put your subjects, prices and real hours on one page.
